The 2017 ARC Awards

Each year, ARC honors an airline and travel agency for exceptional work that drives our industry forward.
We are proud to announce our winners for 2017.

Airline Representatives of the Year

United Airlines

Revenue Accounting & Commercial Receivables Teams

The recipients of 2017’s Airline Representatives of the Year are the Revenue Accounting and Commercial Receivables departments at United Airlines. These two dedicated teams worked together to implement a chargeback management process that provides agents with an opportunity to respond to chargebacks and avoid the financial loss associated with chargebacks that can be won.

This initiative has been recognized as an industry best practice for managing agency chargebacks and is leading the way in partnering with the agency community to constantly evaluate and improve an often frustrating process that has a direct impact to the bottom line.

Travel Agent of the Year

Paul Butcher

Director of Technology and Air Strategy, Expedia, Inc.

2017’s recipient for Travel Agent of the Year is awarded to Expedia, Inc.’s Director of Technology and Air Strategy, Paul Butcher. As an invaluable partner to ARC, an active member in IATA NDC working groups and with a seat on the ATPCO Advisory Board, Butcher connects ARC with other parts of the industry.

With a technical background and operational knowledge, as well as his eye focused on the future of the travel industry, Butcher sees disruption with clear eyes and opportunity beyond today’s definition of NDC, embracing both with equal vigor. He consistently envisions what might be and takes action to get things done and bring to life a strategy or a vision and made it real.
