Alison Taylor is senior vice president – global sales for American Airlines, where she leads the company’s sales team and is responsible for developing all sales and distribution policies worldwide. She also manages the airline’s relationships with corporate and group customers, travel management companies and travel agencies. Her responsibilities include managing more than 800 management and support staff employees. Before joining American in September 2016, she held a similar role at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in New York.
Alison has held various leadership roles during her nearly 30 years of sales experience, and she has worked in six countries across the Asia-Pacific region, where she lived for 20 years. In her most recent post as senior vice president – global sales organization at Starwood, she led the company’s business-to-business sales strategy and directed a sales team of more than 5,000 associates around the world. Prior to that, she held leadership roles in the Asia-Pacific region including senior vice president – sales and revenue management, and vice president – sales, revenue management and digital marketing. She was also in charge of new builds and transitions during a time when Starwood was opening one hotel per week in the Asia-Pacific region.
Alison grew up in London and holds a business degree in hotel management and catering from Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. She is a board member of the Meeting Professionals International Foundation, an advisory board member of Business Travel News, and is on committees for the Riding for the Disabled Association and the Children in Crisis Foundation. In 2015 and 2016 she was named one of the 25 most influential people in the meetings industry by Successful Meetings magazine.
